University Grants Commission (UGC) recently launch Ishan Uday Scholarship by the advise of Central Government of India. This scholarship is available for permanent live of people of North-Eastern states like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura.

About Scholarship
Ishan Uday Scholarships develop jointly by the Human Resources Development Ministry and the UGC for economically disadvantage people in the north-east. 50% seats for science, engineering, and medicine and 50% seats for social sciences, management, and law. This scholarship help financially poor students to get higher education.
Each year, around 10,000 new Ishan Uday scholarships will award under this scholarship. The students who will select receive the scholarship benefit over ten months in two installments. The students will have a chance to complete the scholarship until the end of the academic year for the next year.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants verify their residance of North-Eastern states Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura.
- Family Income not more than 4.5 lakh per year in all source.
- Students must pass class 12 or equivalent from a recognize board in the North Eastern region.
- Also, the applicants must secure admission in the 1st year of any degree course, including integrate courses, at any of the universities/colleges/institutes under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act, as well as Deem-to-be Universities list under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid from the UGC, State/Centrally fund educational institutions, national repute institutes, as well as those institutions with an AISHE code.
- Ishan Uday scholarship benefits transgender students as well.
- Ishan Uday scholarship is not available to students who attend open universities.
- A candidate who take admission through the management quota or obtain any other scholarship or who get a course that not lead to the award of a degree is ineligible for this scholarship.
Required Document
At The Time Of Applying Under The Scheme On The NeSP, the following documents must be uploaded.
- The competent authority must issue a domicile certificate.
- The competent authority must issue a proof of annual income.
- Renewals require the concerned university, institution, or college to upload/verify the Annual Progress Report and continuation of studies.
