Dr. Ajay Chowdhry, one of HCL’s founders and a Padma Bhushan beneficent, and his family created the non-profit, CSR-focused SWAYAM Charitable Trust to support the less fortunate.

Eligibility Criteria

1. B.Tech. candidates entering their first year. Candidates can take way at any of the following 11 organizations:
   • IIT Kharagpur (Indian Institute of Technology)
   • Instituto de Tecnologia Indian Hyderabad (IIT-Hyderabad)
   • It is an IIT ( Institute of Technology) in Patna
   • Institut d’Ingénierie Technologique (IIT-Delhi)
   • It is an Indian Institute of Technology located in Bombay (IIT-Bombay).
   • It is located in Goa and is known as the Indian Institute of Technology-Goa
   • Awarded the title of the FISTDM by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing in Jabalpur
   • IIT Delhi is an Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology.
   • IIIT NR is Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s International Institute of Information Technology Naya Raipur.
   • Engineers’ College, Jabalpur
   • The National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT) is located in Ranchi, India
2. The family income of INR 6 lakh p.a from all origin should not over that of candidates.

Required Documents

The following documents must be uploaded during the request process:

1. Identity cards issued by the government (Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, driving licenses, PAN cards, etc.)
2. Proof of admission for the current year (fee receipt/letter of admission/card of identification/bonafide certificate)
3. Candidates bank account information
4. Documentation of family income
5. Applicants photo
6. The aim of announcement (SOP), which tells the candidate’s immediate and long-term goals, reasons for choosing the school, and reasons for being interested in the field (in about 500 words).
7. A copy of the passing certificates and mark sheets of 10th and 12th class

Financial Assistance

1. The real fee schedule will determine the number of scholarships that will be given to a total of 28 recipients.
2. Tuition, room and board, books, as well as other relevant educational expenses will be covered by the scholarship fund.

Selection Process

Aspiration Scholarship Program 2024-25 elect scholars based on academic merit, personal statement, and financial background through a multi-stage process. As part of the selection procedure, the following steps are taken:

1. Request forms can be submitted online
2. Authentication of documents
3. The shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a telephone interview after their documents have been verified
4. Candidates are shortlisted based on merit, financial need, and Standard Operating Procedures
5. Shortlisted applicants will participate in a final online interview conducted by SWAYAM Charitable Trust’s panel of experts
6. It is the SWAYAM Charitable Trust that will make the final selection of scholars.
