Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship 2024
The Department of Social Justice and Special Assistant, the top body of Maharashtra Government, launched the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship. The scheme provides financial aid to economically weaker sections (EWS) and economically backward classes (EBC), enrolled in postgraduate degrees, technical, or professional courses.
This merit-based scholarship is designed to assist students by reducing 50% of their tuition and exam fees. Biometric authentication using Aadhaar card is required to apply for the scholarship through direct benefit transfer (DBT).

Purpose Of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship Program
The Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship was created to help students from economically challenged communities to waive 50% of their tuition and exam costs. Both male and female students from the state are eligible to apply. To qualify for this financial aid, your annual income should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh. Aadhaar-based authentication and CAPTCHA verification are required when applying.

Eligibility Criteria
The following are general criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:
- The student must be an Indian national.
- Candidates must reside in Maharashtra.
- Deemed and private universities are not included.
- Applicants must be a bonafide student enrolled in professional or technical courses (Diploma/Graduate/Postgraduate) as mentioned in the GR.
- Only two children per family can benefit from this reservation scheme.
- Applicants must apply through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
- Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarships.
- Students must have attended at least 50% of the classes in the previous semester, except for first-year students.
- Total annual family income should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh.
- Gaps between the completion of educational levels must not exceed two years.
Required Documents
To verify eligibility for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship, the following documents are required:
New Application:
- 10th Grade Mark Sheet (S.S.C.) and onwards.
- Domicile certificate of Maharashtra.
- Income Certificate for the previous year.
- Statement confirming that only two beneficiaries per family are applying.
- Documents related to Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
Renewal Application:
- Income Certificate for the previous year.
- Prior year’s Mark Sheet.
Application Last Date
- The Acceptance of Applications (New Renewal for A.Y. The 24 and 25 period began on the 25th of July 2024. Last date to accept new renewal applications for A.Y. The last date for application acceptance is 31st March 2025.
- The last date for re application has extended to 23 to 24 till 31st Mar 2025.
Online Application Procedure
Follow these steps to apply online for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship:
- Visit the official scholarship website.
- Click on the “Registration of New Applicant” option.
- Fill in your details and make sure you have a valid cell number and email address for biometric authentication using Aadhaar.
- After authentication using UIDAI via biometrics or OTP, proceed with the form.
- OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Sign up successfully.
- Log in to the MahaDBT portal using your username and password.
- Fill in the required information and upload supporting documents.
- Submit your application.
